In this rugged and varied land, you’ll find everything from towns and cities to farmland and forest to muskeg and rock. Only the most remote parts of the province are not linked by permanent roads or Internet service.
The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines serves this region and the province’s minerals industry. We deliver provincial government programs and services in Northern Ontario. We also represent northern and mining interests at Queen’s Park.
Our Mines and Minerals Division is an acknowledged global leader in sustainable development of earth and mineral resources, contributing to a robust economy, strong communities, and a healthy environment.
