Introducing CLAIMaps IV – using a Geocortex viewer

The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines (MNDM) is introducing the new CLAIMaps application.  The new version of CLAIMaps is intended to better serve and meet the needs of business and the mining industry in Ontario. Newly added functionality, data and imagery will improve a client’s ability to maintain and manage mining lands in a modern look and feel.

The new CLAIMaps application will maintain the existing search and navigation tools while providing added functions. Newly added are basemaps and imagery which will provide a more enhanced visual product with the ability to create, modify and print custom made as well as provide standard mapping products. Markup and printing tools have also been added to aid with identifying and displaying specific features on a map.

As part of our commitment to customer service, MNDM will continue to provide excellence in mapping services including in meeting its obligation to comply with the Access to Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). This newly introduced legislation is intended to better accommodate people with disabilities while improving and maintaining the high standard of service that MNDM provides to clients and the general public.

MNDM will be launching a new version of the CLAIMaps application in the near future. The new version will include the implementation of the Online Claim Conversion Demonstration and Claim Boundary Report Tool. The new version of CLAIMaps and tool will be implemented to assist claim holders with assessing and preparing for the potential changes to the claim holdings that will result from the conversion of mining claims to align with the Provincial Grid and claim registration in the new Mining Lands Administration System. For further information regarding the launch and the tool please contact Eric Gervais, GIS Lead, MNDM at: 1 888 415 9845 ext. 5836. Or e-mail the Provincial Recording Office at:

Notice: Please be advised that the MCI links to Dispositions are not working properly at this time. The issue is being looked into and will be resolved as soon as possible.
