The following publications are being released on March 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, or 9:00 a.m. Central Time, unless otherwise indicated. Maps and reports in hard-copy (paper) format and digital data sets available on physical media (CD or DVD) can be purchased from the Publication Sales office. Publications can be downloaded for free from the GeologyOntario application or by following the links provided in this release notice. In cases where the file size is prohibitive for downloading, please contact the Publication Sales office to obtain the data on physical media (CD for $20.00; DVD for $25.00).

Prices listed in this Release Notice apply to hard-copy versions only and are subject to change without notice. The prices given in a particular release notice are guaranteed only for a period of 1 month following the date of the release.

Geochronology, Mineral Deposit, Drill-Core Relogging and Drill-Core Compilation Data from the Winiskisis Channel, McFaulds Lake and Highbank Lake Areas, “Ring of Fire” Region, Northern Ontario; by R.T. Metsaranta and M.G. Houlé. This digital release contains compiled drill-hole data from the “Ring of Fire” region of northern Ontario and complements the information displayed on Ontario Geological Survey maps P.3804, P.3805 and P.3806. The data were compiled as part of the McFaulds Lake area mapping project between June 2010 and September 2016. This release comprises 10 Microsoft® Excel® 2010 (.xlsx) workbook files. The data are available on 1 CD. $20.00.

Miscellaneous Release—Data 342
Geological, Geochemical, Geochronological and Geophysical Data from Sackville Township, Shebandowan Greenstone Belt, Wawa–Abitibi Terrane; by L.M. Ratcliffe. This digital data release consists of geological information (field descriptions, field photographs and slab sample photographs), whole-rock geochemical data, U/Pb geochronological data, magnetic susceptibility data and petrographic data, derived from bedrock geological mapping in 2014, at a scale of 1:20 000, in Sackville Township within the Shebandowan greenstone belt. This release comprises 129 photographs (as .jpg files), 5 Microsoft® Excel® 2010 (.xlsx) files and 5 documents in portable document format (.pdf). These data augment Preliminary Map P.3802, Precambrian Geology of Sackville Township, Shebandowan Greenstone Belt, Wawa–Abitibi Terrane; the marginal notes and the geological legend for this map are also provided. The data are available on 1 CD. $20.00.

Miscellaneous

The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines has prepared supplements for Miscellaneous Papers (MP) 177 and 178 to include publications released in 2016. Also, the Bedrock Geology Index to Maps and Surficial Geology Index to Maps are updated to include all maps released in 2016. Miscellaneous Paper 177 (Supplement 2011–2016), MP 178 (Supplement 2011–2016) and the maps are available as free downloads or can be purchased in hard-copy format from Publication Sales.

Errata

Original Release Date: April 14, 2015
Notification Date of Data Errata: February 27, 2017

An error has been identified in the embedded zone for the UTM co-ordinates in the EM anomaly database (Geosoft® profile .gdb format), specifically in GDS 1079b volume 3. The UTM co-ordinates (x_nad83 and y_nad83) in profile database file KL2MAGEM.gdb are correct, but the embedded UTM zone was incorrectly assigned to Zone 16N instead of Zone 17N. The embedded zone information has been corrected.

Announcement

Ontario Pavilion—PDAC 2017

Plans are underway for the “Ontario Pavilion” at the 2017 Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada’s (PDAC) convention in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The event will take place March 5–8, 2017, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines (MNDM) Ontario Pavilion will be located on the main trade show floor in the South building of the convention centre. The Ontario Pavilion will continue to highlight the advantages of conducting mining and exploration in the province. It also provides an excellent forum for networking with companies, investors and MNDM staff. MNDM staff will be available to discuss any projects and concepts you might have in Ontario and to answer delegate’s questions.
