The Ontario Geological Survey’s Resident Geologist Program is pleased to provide Report of Activities 2016 for electronic distribution.

Report of Activities presents program and mineral sector highlights that occurred throughout the year. This year’s compilation, Report of Activities 2016, is available as 6 Open File Reports (OFR), organized by Regional Resident Geologist areas. Mines and Minerals Division: 

Bill 39 Standing Committee Review Completed

The Standing Committee on Justice Policy has completed its review of the proposed Aggregate Resources and Mining Modernization Act, 2016 (Bill 39).  Presentations on Schedule 2 of Bill 39, which deals with introduction of online mining claim registration and implementation of a new electronic Mining Lands Administration System (MLAS), took place on March 2nd.

Ontario Mining & Exploration Directory

Mines and Minerals Division: 

The Ontario Mining & Exploration Directory provides an annual overview of mining operations and mine development projects as well as contact information for metallic and non metallic mineral producers and active exploration companies in Ontario. Production and employment information is also provided for the metallic and industrial mineral producers. The directory is produced annually by the Ontario Prospector's Association.

The Mining Act Modernization Phase 3 team will be at the 2017 annual convention of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) to provide a number of venues and opportunities for mineral development clients to learn more about Schedule 2 of the proposed Aggregate Resources and Mining Modernization Act (Bill 39).
