2017 Ontario Geological Survey Field Projects

Mines and Minerals Division: 

The Ontario Geological Survey will conduct approximately 20 geoscience mapping projects across Ontario during 2017. The accompanying map highlights active projects planned for Northern and Southern Ontario.

Descriptions of the 23 active projects and their locations and a list of related publications can now be viewed using OGSEarth.

Contingent upon legislation (Bill 39) being passed, all existing MNDM mineral exploration and development clients would be notified by mail with instructions to register their client profile in the new Mining Lands Administration System (MLAS). For that reason, you should ensure that we have your current mailing address on file.

Sault Ste. Marie Mining Division Spatial Data Now Available

New spatial data for the Sault Ste. Marie Mining Division is now available on CLAIMaps. Other divisions for which spatial data can currently be viewed include the Kenora, Red Lake, Patricia, and Southern Ontario Mining Divisions. Over the coming year, this new data will be made available for the other mining divisions as they are updated.
