Overview

The Ontario Highways Program provides information on highway expansion and rehabilitation projects that are planned or underway in communities across the province through different formats, including an interactive map and sortable tables. footnote 1

From April 2023 to March 2024, the Ontario government is committing approximately $3.2 billion to repair and expand provincial highways and bridges. This includes construction funding of almost $1.7 billion in southern Ontario and almost $592 million in Northern Ontario. These smart investments are estimated to create or sustain approximately 15,100 direct and indirect jobs and improve quality of life for workers, families and small businesses across Ontario.

In addition to the construction projects in the Ontario Highways Program, numerous other projects that will reduce gridlock and improve safety and connectivity are in the planning phase. Projects like Highway 413, a new 400‐series highway and transportation corridor that will cross Halton, Peel and York regions and bring relief to the most congested transportation corridor in North America.  The interactive map now includes the proposed corridor for the future Highway 413, which is subject to further refinement.
