Wednesday, June 25, 2008 -- Northern Development and Mines Minister and Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) chair Michael Gravelle (right) and Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Mike Brown (left) present Gore Bay businessman Randy Noble, proprietor of Noble Trucking, with a commemorative plaque celebrating more than 30 years of business success. Noble Trucking is among the original businesses to receive Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) assistance in 1988. Minister Gravelle and Brown presented the plaque in celebration of the NOHFC’s 20th anniversary. |

Wednesday, June 25, 2008 -- Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) 20th anniversary festivities kicked off in Gore Bay with an anniversary cake cutting ceremony. On hand for the pastry protocol were: (left to right) Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands (NEMI) Mayor Jim Stringer, Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle, who chairs the NOHFC, NOHFC board member Carolyn Lane-Rock, Meredith Noble and Randy Noble, who was one of the first recipients of NOHFC funding in 1988, Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Mike Brown, Gore Bay Mayor Joyce Foster and Blue Sky Economic Growth Corporation (BSEGC) General Manager Susan Church. Minister Gravelle also announced $485,000 to the BSEGC to bring high-speed Internet services to more than 80 per cent of Manitoulin Island and $1.1million to the Town of NEMI to complete the second phase of its docks and waterfront facility project. |
