Document Filing or Forwarding and Fee Payment Centers

The Provincial Recording Office (PRO) is the main recording center for Mining Lands documents. Clients may submit Assessment Work documents to the Geoscience Assessment Office (GAO).

Clients may also use the Mining Lands Consultant (MLC) offices to:

• pay minister required fees,
• file mining lands documents for the respective divisions; or
• forward Mining Act documents by mail or fax to PRO. (Documents and fees received by the MLC will be forwarded, free of charge, to the Provincial Recording Office.)

Clients may also use ServiceOntario offices to forward documents by mail or fax, free of charge, to the Provincial Recording Office.

Document Filing Responsibility

Please note that the client is responsible for filing required documents in the Provincial Recording Office and/or Geoscience Assessment Office by the deadline set within the Mining Act and related Regulations. If, for any reason, there is a disruption in service at a Mining Lands Consultant's or ServiceOntario office, the client must file the document in the Provincial Recording Office or Geoscience Assessment Office by the deadline.
