This Program promotes advanced exploration and new mine development and assists mining industry clients through the permitting process as required under Part VII of the Mining Act.

Mineral Development Officers, team leaders for advanced exploration and new mine development projects in Ontario,

• provide technical advice on mineral development projects
• provide information and advice on permitting requirements
• facilitate permitting concerns and early stage project planning with all relevant ministries, agencies and departments
• advise and assist with public and First Nation consultation
• assist with conflict resolution
• identify new opportunities to expand Ontario’s industrial mineral and dimension stone industries
