What We Do

Andy Fyon, Director, Ontario Geological SurveyThe OGS Director champions OGS activities and the geoscience program, and ensures that core business functions are co-ordinated and implemented consistently cross the Branch. The range of business functions that are delivered or co-ordinated from the Director’s office includes

• Strategic and business planning
• Geoscience program, Aboriginal engagement and relationship building
• Development of partnership and other operational policies, practices and procedures
• Documentation of geoscience program value and performance
• Co-ordination of
  1. health and safety practices
  2. representation of geoscience interests in ministry and across-ministry policy development
• Geoscience program level client and stakeholder communication with the OGS Advisory Board, its technical committee, regional associations, and other stakeholders
• Representation of OGS and Ontario interests at national and international meetings, committees or working groups
