What We Do

Andy Fyon, Director, Ontario Geological Survey TheOGS Director champions OGS activities and the geoscience program, and ensuresthat core business functions are co-ordinated and implemented consistently across the Branch.

The range of business functions that are delivered or co-ordinated from the Director's office includes:

• Strategic and business planning.
• Geoscience program, Aboriginal engagement and relationship building.
• Development of partnership and other operational policies, practices and procedures.
• Documentation of geoscience program value and performance.
• Co-ordination.
  1. Health and safety practices.
  2. Representation of geoscience interests in ministry and across-ministry policy development.
• Geoscience program level client and stakeholder communication with the OGS Advisory Board, its technical committee, regional associations, and other stakeholders.
• Representation of OGS and Ontario interests at national and international meetings, committees or working groups.
