Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation is supporting four new companies owned by young Thunder Bay area entrepreneurs. Ontario investments continue to grow small businesses and create private sector jobs in the Thunder Bay area.
The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is supporting four new companies owned by young Thunder Bay area entrepreneurs. They include:
- Streak of Green - an environmentally-friendly hair salon using natural, organic products.
- Transitions Hair Salon - a hair styling and aesthetics business.
- The Village Smith - a specialty jewellery manufacturing business.
- Boreal Journeys Sled Dog Kennel - a tourism enterprise.

QUICK FACTS
- The NOHFC’s Young Entrepreneur Program provides up to $25,000 to northern residents aged 18 to 29 to start their own for-profit business in the North.
- Since 2005, the NOHFC has invested nearly $824,000 in the start-up of some 39 businesses in Thunder Bay and area.
