McGuinty Government Supports Business Investment Opportunities

Band council members and staff of a First Nation community in Northwestern Ontario will strengthen their knowledge about economic development to attract and keep business in the community.

The Naicatchewenin First Nation is receiving funding from the Northern Communities Investment Readiness program (NCIR) for two training workshops that will cover:

  • Analysing the community’s current economic performance;
  • Identifying the community’s specific goals;
  • Prioritizing potential investment opportunities; and 
  • Completing a strategic economic development plan.
