McGuinty Government Helping Strengthen Northern Economies

Ontario is supporting Dryden’s efforts to attract new business and strengthen its economy.
Through the Northern Communities Investment Readiness (NCIR) program, the Dryden Development Corporation is:
• Undertaking a marketing campaign that will promote investment, job creation and economic diversification in the community
• Conducting market sector audits in the mineral exploration, renewable energy, manufacturing and tourism sectors in support of the community’s economic diversification strategy.

- The province is supporting these initiatives in Dryden with $10,000 from the NCIR program
- In July, the province supported the Dryden’s initiative to promote diversification in the forestry sector with $13,970 from the NCIR program.
- To date, more than $1.6 million in NCIR funding has been approved for more than 173 initiatives across the North.
