FIRST IMPRESSIONS COMMUNITY EXCHANGE

The First Impression Community Exchange helps communities learn about their strengths and shortcomings as seen through the eyes of first-time visitors. The knowledge gained through FICE can help communities identify areas for improvement in appearance, services and infrastructure.

Our staff assists the participating communities by providing standard resources including; question booklets, templates, and surveys necessary to undertake an effective community exchange.

The program provides a structured opportunity for volunteer teams from partnered exchange communities to:

  • do unannounced one-day visits
  • record their observations
  • give constructive feedback to their exchange community.

For Northern Ontario communities, FICE is delivered by our ministry in collaboration with Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.  Northern communities that have participated include Wawa and Marathon.
