Maps and reports in hard-copy (paper) format and digital data sets available on physical media (CD or DVD) can be purchased from the Publication Sales office. Publications can be downloaded for free from the GeologyOntario application or by following the links provided in this release notice. In cases where the file size is prohibitive for downloading, please contact the Publication Sales office to obtain the data on physical media (CD for $20.00; DVD for $25.00).

Miscellaneous Release—Data 323
Geological, Geochemical, Geochronological and Geophysical Data from the Cobden Area, Grenville Province; by R.M. Easton and B. Azar. This digital release contains field notes, outcrop photographs, photomicrographs and petrographic data, whole-rock geochemical data, Nd/Sm isotopic and U/Pb geochronologic data, and magnetic susceptibility and scintillometer data that were collected between June 2013 and September 2015 as part of the Cobden 1:50 000 scale bedrock mapping project. Also included are related presentations and preliminary reports by the authors. These data augment Preliminary Map P.3780, Precambrian Geology of the Cobden area, Grenville Province, Preliminary Map P.3781, Precambrian Geology of the Chenaux Gabbro, Grenville Province, and Open File Report 6299, Geology, Geochemistry and Mineral Potential of the Chenaux Gabbro, Northeastern Central Metasedimentary Belt, Grenville Province. Exploration in the Shadow of Many Headframes
McIntyre Arena, Timmins

Staff of the Mines and Minerals Division, Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, will be participating in the 2017 Northeastern Ontario Mines and Minerals Symposium in Timmins. Ministry staff will be presenting posters and talks on recent field work, geoscience projects and initiatives, and summaries of current exploration activities in Ontario. The symposium provides an excellent forum for members of Ontario’s prospector, mining and exploration community to gather for the exchange of geoscience and exploration information.
