Progress update – March 2014

Mines and Minerals Division: 

Mining Lands Administration going Digital

Ontario is continuing its phased approach to modernizing its Mining Act. This means implementing province-wide online claim staking and a modern mining lands administration system. Implementing this phase of Mining Act Modernization requires the enactment of some technical changes to the Mining Act and some regulations.

2014 Ontario Geological Survey Field Projects

Mines and Minerals Division: 

The Ontario Geological Survey will conduct approximately 40 geoscience mapping projects across Ontario during 2014. The accompanying map highlights active projects planned for Northern and Southern Ontario.

Northwest Mining and Exploration Status Report 2013

Mines and Minerals Division: 

The 2013 Northwest Mining and Exploration Status Report has been released by the staff of the Northwest Ontario Resident Geologist Program.   The report highlights activities in the region which include producing mines and quarries, major exploration projects, amethyst producers and identified mineral resources.
