The Transportation and Infrastructure Unit is also involved in the strategic coordination and delivery of activities in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector in the north. The focus of these activities is on enhancing the ICT sector in Northern Ontario and supporting socio-economic development through the identification and implementation of ICT strategies which grow capacity, reduce barriers, and expand infrastructure.

- Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) broadband portal provides access to a range of broadband-related statistics gathered by the OECD.
- NAN broadband project, will involve laying 2300 kilometers of fibre optic cable bringing high-speed internet access to 26 First Nations.
- Blue Sky Net assists in the development of Information Communication Technology (ICT) projects throughout Northern Ontario.
- North Eastern Ontario Communications Network Inc. is a regional, non-profit organization, working to overcome distance and small market areas through the modern telecommunications and information technology.
